Something about starting a class discussion with, “Also, when I eat bananas…” just doesn’t sit well with me. Confirming my earlier hunch about this class being a complete joke. At least the people are kool..
My mom was just telling me about how when I was a month old, she took me from L.A. to Santa Clara to meet up with my grandparents to get me baptized. My mom had taken the Grey Hound bus by herself with my sister and I because my dad hadn’t approved of my baptism. Apparently, my mom was so tired and exhausted during the drive that while holding me, she fell asleep. I ended up rolling out of her arms and tumbling down her legs and rolling along the floor of the bus. Amazingly, I wasn’t stepped on! Random and funny story that made my night.
Crazy how not too long ago I was just a baby rolling on the floor of a bus, and now I’m already twenty years old. Time flies when you’re having a good time.
I know it’s basically all I think about but, I got offered to teach another class at AKA today! First I just went to classes, then got offered a spot on the amateur team, and now I’m helping teach classes. Steady progression! I realized today how much better I’ve gotten with: slipping punches, footwork, accurate punching, checking high/low kicks etc. The defensive part of fighting was hard to learn but it’s coming along. My striking form has been getting pretty polished too. Oh and today was the first time I’ve ever kicked anyone straight in the head AND I learned how to double jump per rope jump!
I helped teach a class at AKA today! Probably just cause Justin was being a lazy ass, but that still shows that he thinks I’m capable! I had come back at night to lift since I had already trained in the morning and I just stopped by the kickboxing room to take a look at the Muay Thai class. I guess there were too many students so Justin asked me to help him teach cause he couldn’t jump around and help everyone. I just helped a group learn the 1-2-3 combo but I still felt pretty legit. Good spring break for sure.
